Anjali Taneja

Singer/songwriter Anjali Taneja strives to introduce a variation of contemporary R&B by exploring intersections among urban sounds, old-school R&B melodies, and Indian ragas. Influenced in equal parts by Etta James, Norah Jones, and various Indian ghazal singers, she believes in the power of the Indian Classical tradition to sonically transform contemporary music styles. Having trained in Indian Classical and Sufi music since the age of 4, and Jazz in the music department at Princeton University, her goal as an artist is to fuse R&B and contemporary music with Indian rhythmic elements to bring these sounds to a wider audience. Anjali has performed at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, George Mason EagleBank Arena, and various US embassies. In June of 2016, she was invited to perform with legendary jazz fusion guitarist and four-time Grammy nominee, Stanley Jordan.
